The menu I created for this dessert table was totally inspired by the purple fringe colors. I immediately pictured a totally hip harvest party. Like an amazingly cool couple who owned a small vineyard, decided to celebrate their first harvest with a really fun and homey wedding. Yes, I completely make up people, a scenario, what they like. Weird? Maybe. But if I’m not styling for actual people, I better have really cool fake ones! And yes, I do get to know my clients that well – so each dessert table is completely unique and really special for each event.

So, back to the hip harvest wedding. Everything was grape/fruit inspired. I made two different grape tarts and used a spiral pattern to decorate with the grapes. Love this effect! I made homemade grape jello parfaits, from actual grapes. The color was so amazing and they tasted sooo delish! Juli added the touch of green puffs, which really set the color off. The little bluberry shortcakes came out so pretty; biscuits with blueberry puree and topped with honey, yogurt sauce.

I’m a little obssessed with the way the cake turned out! Tons of coconut on top and all around is the perfect compliment to the fringe cake topper I made.  Plus the super cute handmade granola favors – we were eating leftovers in my house for weeks, haha! We rimmed the champagne glasses with gold sanding sugar and added the grape fringe-topped skewers.

So honored to have worked with the super star team to develop this shoot. Now I just need a real harvest couple!!

The style for this inspiration shoot was Rustic Glam and a winter wedding at Lake Lanier was the perfect setting. Rich purples and ivory, combined with gold to put a luxe spin on the serene outdoor setting.

For the dessert table I wanted to stay really true to the season and color palette, so I started with beautiful plums and pears and I coated them with sugar. I love the snow-like effect it creates. Then I made caramel apples, always a guest favorite! Apple bars are a really fun and cool idea if you want something a little different for a dessert table. Candy , Caramel, Chocolate, dipped in nuts – so many delicious choices! And it makes a great favor too!

I also made purple colored cake pops (sprinkled with pearlized non-pareils), vanilla cupcakes with coconut-covered frosting, snowflake shaped and decorated sugar cookies and beautiful rose-shaped meringues. Everything had that wintery feel, but many of the ideas could be used across seasons.

I love the way the escort card table came out. Mini blueberry, peach and cherry pies served as little holders for the handmade table numbers. Such a sweet and fun idea to add a special touch!

The fabulous It Takes Two Events were the event planners and put together an amazing spring wedding palette of coral, peach, light green and pink. So pretty and light and spring-y. When I saw the colors, I knew I wanted to make some sort of fabric/fringe/garland craft, so I headed to the fabric store and found perfect colors! I cut the fabrics into strips of even lengths and then developed a pattern for tying them in knots to the string backdrop. I seriously love the way this came out. I’ve always wished I knew how to sew (and hopefully will one day!), so this was a perfect project for me and others who can’t. This would look good in so many color palettes and still be unique & look original behind a custom dessert table (by me, of course!)

The desserts I made for this event were so fun. Handmade marshmallows have become one of my signature items – nothing like watching someone eat one for the first time and realize that is what a marshmallow can actually taste like. I made some yummy pecan pralines as favors. Yes people, I do favors too! I really need to add a favor section to the site. And then I made chocolate cake pops, coated in a custom-matched color and added tags to use as escort cards. The amazing hi note stationers created these fab custom cake pops flags. Event guests were literally going crazy about what a beautiful and fun idea it is to do this. Yes, I do super fun escort card displays. Okay, I need to get busy updating my site! Since the party attendees would be a combination of brides and fabulous industry friends, I wanted to do a dessert bar that was really chic and fun, but also romantic and sweet. The sweets menu was: Pink & Gold Cake Pops, Mini Vanilla Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream and Gold Fondant Hearts, Maple Popcorn (that’s right, Maple, not caramel and SO yummy!), Pink Sixlets and Gold Shimmer Gumballs.

For the decor elements, I created Paper Rosettes with various pink & gold papers. While some of the papers were super fancy, I mixed them with more standard sheets for a pretty combination of patterns and solids. I also dressed up some mini favor boxes (filled with the popcorn), by adding some gold punched embellishments. Love how this turned out. And then there is the LOVE! I took some cardboard letters, painted them gold and then cut pink glitter letters to glue on top. Definitely was a detail project, but it added so much fun sparkle to the table. Would love to do this for an upcoming wedding dessert table with other cute sayings or a couples initials!

For this shoot, I envisioned a groom that grew up going to the lake and camping with his family. S’mores were a special part of his memories. Enter the bride, who wants to do S’mores deluxe and add a romantic touch. The result: a rustic S’mores dessert bar, with lots of soft, feminine touches.

The menu included a make-your-own S’mores bar, complete with milk, dark & white chocolate, plus peanut butter cups for extra yumminess. Other elements include traditional graham crackers and homemade marshmallows, along with roasting skewers. To make the S’mores bar extra special, I added an amazing S’mores tart with a graham cracker crust, filled with a milk chocolate ganache and topped with a melted marshmallow fluff. I also made some pretty and fun S’mores pops – marshmallows on sticks, dipped in chocolate and then rolled in crushed graham crackers.

The setting for this was a beautiful, woodsy backdrop and for the decor I used a combination of wood, dark brown burlap and a really pretty pink flowered fabric. Bright pink gerber daisies & crisp white  serving platters completed the look.

The menu includes: white chocolate covered cherries (so elegant!), “santa hat” gluten/dairy free chocolate cupcakes, peppermint marshmallow pops (delicious, but very sticky), vanilla cake pops decorated like ornaments & green apple jelly beans.

The decor: silver glitter sticks & pine cones created an eye catching centerpiece. I filled two vases with pears and wrapped them with a beautiful white & silver glitter ribbon. I used a perfect Christmas red ribbon to line the middle of the table. And my favorite element, hand-made paper flowers (like red cherry blossoms), which I attached to the branches on the table. Don’t you love that!

The idea behind this table is a southern style wedding, that incorporates some new, fun sweets designs, while still respecting family traditions.

We wanted to keep everything Georgia, so the dessert menu included banana pudding parfaits with nilla wafers, grilled peaches (don’t they look mouthwatering!), gummy cola bottles and peanut brittle. To keep with the look of the rest of the shoot, I used lace for the food labels – love using the peaches as stands – and to wrap the peanut brittle cones.

I made my decadent espresso brownie bites, mini cheesecakes topped with royal icing flowers and hand-dipped coconut macaroons. I found beautiful purple salt water taffy and grape gummies and the bride added her favorite Godiva key lime truffles.

We kept the table decor sweet and simple – perfect for a country wedding at a farmhouse in Virginia.
