I’m Lauren Chekanow, the owner of Sugar Style Events. I’ve loved baking since I was a little girl, helping my mom make banana bread & brownies. I only helped so I could eat the leftover batter, but I fell in the love with the process; measuring, mixing & then waiting by the oven for the timer to beep!
After graduating with a degree in Advertising, I moved to NYC and spent 7 years working in food advertising & marketing. I created campaigns, promotions and developed new products for big name consumer package good companies, including Lipton, Frito Lay, Mott’s & Dannon. At photo shoots, I studied the food & prop stylists and really enjoyed selecting creative & beautiful displays and serving pieces to showcase the food creations. My interest in design and décor grew even more while traveling in Europe & visiting all the charming shops and stunning galleries.
After settling down in Atlanta, GA with my husband, we started a family and now have a daughter Rowyn & son Mathis. After so many years of friends telling me that I needed to do something in the food business, I finally decided to launch Sugar Style Events in 2010.
